  • Dr.
    Julie Chamness Gray

    Dr. Julie Chamness Gray was born and raised in Las Cruces.  As a Mayfield graduate, she attended New Mexico State University where she obtained a degree in Animal Science.  After graduating with her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University, Dr. Gray practiced in northern New Mexico and Southlake, Texas, in mixed animal practices for four years.  She established Arroyo Veterinary clinic in November of 1989.

    During her off time, Dr. Gray enjoys family life and exhibiting her horses.

    Amber Dennis Thompson

    Dr. Thompson was born in Las Cruces and raised in southern New Mexico.  While growing up, she was active in 4-H and FFA.  Dr. Thompson attended New Mexico State University for undergraduate studies and Colorado State University for her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.

    Upon graduation from veterinary school in 1996, Dr. Thompson returned to Las Cruces.  She has been an associate veterinarian at Arroyo Veterinary Clinic since the summer of 1996.  Residing in the south valley, Dr. Thompson enjoys reading, sewing, and exhibiting her horses in her down time.

    Melissa Jones

    Dr. Melissa Jones graduated from Cloudcroft High School in 1995 as valedictorian.  She continued her education at New Mexico State University  where she graduated as a Crimson Scholar with Bachelor of Science in Biology and Microbiology.  Her dreams came true when she graduated with a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 2005.

    Upon completion of her DVM, Dr. Jones returned home to practice in Alamogordo for 5 years.  She moved to Texas for just over a year where she practiced in Corpus Christi.  Returning home, she found the perfect fit with the staff at Arroyo Veterinary Clinic.  Along with general practice, Dr. Jones is a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner.  Through physical rehabilitation, Dr. Jones tries to increase function and decrease pain in all her patients. 

    Dr. Jones shares her life with her husband Robert, her two children Alex and Kelly, and three dogs: Rigby, Einstien, and Shylah and two cats: Baghrea and Emma Rose
